Guilds
Guilds are groups of Players who have joined together to form cohesive, long-term teams within WoW. Guilds provide their members with help completing Quests, conquering 5-player Dungeons and 10-player or 25-player Raid Dungeons, competing in Player versus Player Battlegrounds, developing Profession Skills, and so on. The majority of well-established Guilds also offer access to a Guild Bank, which can be found in any Bank in any of the major cities of the game.
It should be noted that you absolutely do not have to join a Guild if you don't want to. However, a Guild can provide very valuable help as you learn the ropes, so let's take a look at joining one. This can be done one of three ways. The first and simplest way is to communicate with a Player who belongs to a Guild and ask if they could invite you. Not all members of a given Guild may be able to invite new members, and some Guilds are particular about who they invite, but at the very least you should be able to get more information about how to join that Player's Guild.
The second way to join a Guild is to use the Guild Finder tool, which can be accessed by pressing the "J" Key on your keyboard.

Once the Guild Finder is open, check the
appropriate boxes in the Settings tab to indicate what interests you're looking
for in a Guild, what your general availability is for group activities, and
what Class roles you're interested in performing during activities like Dungeon
Runs, Raid Dungeons, and PvP Battlegrounds. You can also add a brief comment
that can be read by Guild officers who review your petition to join. When
you're ready, click the "Browse Guilds" button to bring up a list of
Guilds that match your criteria.
_
Review the different Guilds that come up, and see if any of
them appeal to you. When you find one that does, click on its entry to
highlight it, click the "Request Membership" button, and then click
"Send." Be patient, as it may take time to get a response from any
Guilds you send requests to. Also, you can have no more than 10 active requests
to join Guilds at any point.
Note: Some Guilds are very particular about who they accept into their ranks, and will not admit anyone below a certain Experience Level, or will not admit someone until they prove their skill with the game (in PvP Battlegrounds or in a Raid Dungeon, for example). Try not to take it personally if a Guild rejects your request for membership.
The third--and most ambitious--option for joining a Guild is to simply create your own! To do so, head to the Visitor's Center in any capital city (the Stormwind Visitor's Center is in the Trade District, not far from the main city gate). Speak to the Guild Master NPC, and then click on "How do I form a guild," and then "Purchase a Guild Charter." In the next window, type a name for your Guild, and then click "Purchase" to buy a Guild Charter (this will cost 10 Silver).
Once you have a Guild Charter in hand, seek out four Players who are willing to sign your Guild Charter. To have someone sign your charter, right-click on your Guild Charter to open its interface window. Then target the Player who wishes to sign up, and then click the "Request Signature" button. Once four Players have signed your Guild Charter, return to the Guild Master you bought the Charter from, and turn the Charter in to form your Guild! After your Guild is formed, the people who signed your Charter can leave the Guild without any penalties to you or them. Being the only member of your Guild might be lonely, but you can always recruit new members later on. For more information and guidelines on Guilds and how to run one, check out this webpage (http://www.wowpedia.org/Guild).
Tip: If you think you'd like to join a very well-established Guild with plenty of information and resources to help players learn the ropes of the game, two excellent choices would be Alea Iacta Est (a Horde guild on the U.S. RP Realm Earthen Ring--https://aie-guild.org/game-division/world-of-warcraft/) and Convert to Raid (an Alliance guild on the U.S. PvE Realm Aerie Peak--http://guild.converttoraid.com/).
Now that you know more about Guilds, return to Flight Master Dungar Longdrink, and head back to Goldshire. You have at least one more Quest you should complete before you head to Westfall and rendezvous with Lieutenant Horatio Laine.
