Quests: "The Fargodeep Mine,"
"Kobold Candles," and "Gold Dust Exchange,"
and New Quests:
"A Fishy Peril," "The Jasperlode Mine," and "Further
Concerns"
_
Once you get to the Fargodeep Mine, you'll have
a couple of objectives to complete for your three Quests. For Marshal Dughan's
Quest ("The Fargodeep Mine"), you simply need to make your way
towards the back of the mine to "scout" it (you'll see a message on
screen when you've gone far enough. For William Pestle's Quest ("Kobold
Candles") and Remy "Two Times'" Quest ("Gold Dust
Exchange"), you'll need to fight the Kobold Tunnelers near and inside
Fargodeep Mine until you've looted 8 Large Candles and 10 portions of Gold
Dust.
_
Once you've scouted deep enough inside Fargodeep Mine and
looted 10 Gold Dusts and 8 Large Candles from the Kobold Tunnelers, head back
to Goldshire to turn in these Quests. Doing so should advance you to Level 6, if you haven't gotten there already.
Note: If, while completing Quests that involve collecting items, you get a notification that your Inventory is full, go back to a Vendor and sell unwanted loot to clear space (try to save ore and leather for later).
For now, click "Decline" for William Pestle's Quest "A Visit with Maybell" to ignore it. Marshal Dughan will give you a Quest called "The Jasperlode Mine," which will require you to scout that mine the same way you did with the Fargodeep Mine. Head northeast, passing just to the north of Crystal Lake, until you reach the Jasperlode Mine. Be careful on your way there, because the forest contains hostile animals, as well as some bandits that may be too much for you to handle at this point, especially if they outnumber you. Once you reach the mine, you'll find that it's been overrun with Kobolds. Just like at the Fargodeep Mine, fight your way into the Jasperlode Mine until you see an on-screen message saying that the scouting objective has been completed. Then, head back to Goldshire, turn in the Quest with Marshal Dughan, and if you've reached Level 7 by this point, you'll be able to get a new quest from Remy. If you haven't reached Level 7, kill some creatures in the forest south of Goldshire until you do. Don't bother picking up Marshal Dughan's Quest "Westbrook Garrison Needs Help" right now.
Remy gives you the Quest ("A Fishy Peril"), which starts by having you speak to Marshal Dughan about threats of Murlocs (a fish-like Humanoid race) to the east. Marshal Dughan sympathizes with Remy's concerns, but he can't afford to send any soldiers right now. He tells you that if you'd like to check out the reports yourself, to head east along the road and speak to Guard Thomas (this begins the "Further Concerns" Quest).
Guard Thomas' post is a long way down the road, so let's take a faster way to get there than simply walking on foot. Talk to Marshal Dughan again & tell him that you want to ride the Stormwind charger; you'll be put on a horse and automatically ride it all the way east to Guard Thomas' post.
